Iams Friends For Life Fund - Funding Priorities

Bringing together people and pets for a lifetime of health, happiness and love.

Priority areas are:

  • Bringing people and pets togetherfor life through shelter adoption and encouraging responsible pet ownership.

  • Promoting the benefits companion animals bring to the lives of people.
     
  • Advancing the practice of pet therapy.

    The Iams Friends For Life Fund will focus contributions on five areas:

    1. Animal behavior training programs to make pets more adoptable and to make adoptions more successful.
    2. Responsible pet ownership education
    3. Assistance dog programs.
    4. Pet therapy programs.
    5. Disaster relief for pets.

    These choices are based on our assessment of where we can make the most meaningful difference.

    Our current limitations: We use a guideline of no more than 10% of the grantee’s operating budget.

    Organizations seeking funding must be tax exempt under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3). Mass mailings are not considered. No grants will be made to individuals.

    Grant types

  • We provide support for programs and general operating expenses.

  • We are unable to fund capital campaigns or sponsor fundraising events.

  • A committee of Iams Company employees will review all requests and make giving decisions on behalf of the Iams Friends For Life Fund and The Iams Company.
