Contributing to The Women’s Fund

Send a check, made out to The Greater Cincinnati Foundation for the specific Women’s Fund fund you wish to support: The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, P.O. Box 5200, Cincinnati, OH 45201-5200.

Donate stock. If you hold physical certificates, they need to be personally delivered to The Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

If the stock was issued in the name of the donor, the donor needs to sign a stock power for each certificate(s) delivered. (It should be signed exactly as the stock is issued.) If the stock will be mailed, the certificate(s) should be mailed in an envelope separate from the stock powers. Do NOT sign the back of a physical certificate. Stock may be issued in the name of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation and delivered to GCF.

If the stock is held at a brokerage firm: The Greater Cincinnati Foundation maintains accounts at many brokerage firms, banks and investment institutions for the purpose of facilitating stock gifts. It may be possible to transfer the stock to the GCF account at the brokerage firm. If you wish to transfer stock from a brokerage account, please contact a member of GCF's Giving Strategies staff for specific instructions.

For all stock gifts, it is best to inform GCF that the gift is in progress. That way, GCF can follow up to make certain that the gift reaches the appropriate fund. Please contact Janis Holloway at 513-241-2880 or by e-mail at hollowayj@gcfdn.org. The date that the control of the stock is transferred is key to determining the tax deduction for the gift. In addition, be sure to indicate the fund to which a stock gift should be added.

Also note: it is the policy of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation to sell all gifts of stock and add the proceeds to the fund.

Make a grant suggestion from your GCF donor advised fund (using Advisor Xpress or your regular grant suggestion form) OR another donor advised fund. The grant should made to The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, with the specific Women's Fund fund named as the purpose of the grant.
