GCF launched four initiatives following a “community listening” process conducted in 2002. The initiatives each span five years, beginning in 2003 and ending in 2007.

Youth Behavioral Health Initiative
Behavioral health has been identified as a priority issue in both health and human service sectors. GCF formed a funding partnership with The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati and other local grantmakers to improve the behavioral health services for youth in the region.  The Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (YBHI) is a five-year grantmaking initiative to:
  • Support programs that use evidence-based practices
  • Increase access to behavioral health care
  • Increase the capacity of service provider agencies
  • Make systemic changes that promote coordination of services, collaboration among service providers, and efficient use of resources.

GCF Investment: $625,000 over five years
