Deferred giving arrangements can be made while your client is still living, or through a will or testamentary trust. In either case, the more we know about your client’s charitable intentions, the more likely we are to be able to give effect to those intentions at a later date. To that end, we encourage you and your clients to contact us before a deferred gift arrangement has been put into place, so that we can help facilitate the gift.
The type of deferred gift most often received by GCF is a bequest. Clients may also make deferred gifts using life insurance or retirement plan assets. Donors may retain a life income stream from gifted property if they structure a gift as a charitable remainder trust or a charitable gift annuity.
