Community Revitalization Initiatives

Local Initiatives Support Corporation
Alliance for Building Communities
From 1998 to 2004, Community Investment Partners (CIP) helped three Cincinnati neighborhoods become more active and engaged communities. These efforts brought new businesses, public and private investment and job training opportunities to Northside, Price Hill and Walnut Hills/East Walnut Hills.
CIP was a funders’ collaborative among Fifth Third Bank, GCF, The Procter & Gamble Fund, and United Way & Community Chest of Greater Cincinnati. This $2 million, five-year grantmaking initiative focused on comprehensive community development. Three neighborhoods received grants of up to $500,000 over five years. Additional resources were proved for one-on-one coaching and technical expertise.
Impact The lessons and impact of CIP are captured in the 2000 Report to the Community, published in September 2000, the 2001 Midterm Report , and the 2004 Final Report (see links in the sidebar at right).
